ГП Австралии. 16-18 марта 2007 года.
Дженсон перед гонкой:
"Obviously Melbourne is a very special place for me as the circuit where I made my F1 debut. But it's more than just the race track in Albert Park. I love the very special atmosphere of the city, both in its own right and from the sheer buzz involved in being at the first race of the season. The setting of the circuit is also one of the best on the calendar. Once I'm in Australia, in the immediate run-up to the race I will be getting down to some more serious training. I've got a friend there who I go riding down round the coast beyond St Kilda. It's a terrific place to prepare for the race and when I'm not training, I will be checking out the local restaurants which are great. The weather conditions for the race can be pretty variable. One year it can be cold with the winds blowing up from the Antarctic and the next it can be really warm. I much prefer it when the weather is warm so fingers crossed for this year. Being the first race it can get a little bit chaotic going down to the first corner. The track is very bumpy and you have to be careful not to lock up your wheels over the bumps into the braking area and just stay out of trouble really. The start is the best place to overtake. You can also get past into Ascari, the fast right hander after the back straight, once you come cleanly off the fast left-right bend at Waite. There is also a slim possibility of squeezing by into turn three. It is very important to get your corner apexes right here. On some circuits braking is the most important thing, but here there are so many chicanes and ess-bends that you have to be very precise and consistent. Everything that you have been working on over the winter needs to come together for the first race of the season, so its about choosing the right race strategy, making sure that the pit crew get everything right and good mechanical reliability."

Дженсон по результатам пятницы:
"We had a straightforward day working through our planned programme and of course the changeable conditions gave me the chance to run the Bridgestone Potenza wet tyres. It is good to be back racing again, however we are struggling to find a balance and our position today is a clear indication that there is a lot of work to be done to close the gap to where we want to be."
Пресс-конференция в пятницу:
Q: Jenson, I'm sure 13th is not what you were hoping for.
Jenson: I think it's probably quite realistic in a way. We haven't had the best winter really. We've been improving the car all the time but it's still not where we want it to be. As I've said before, this weekend is going to be a tough weekend for us, it's also a very important weekend for us, to completely understand what our issues are with the car.
Q: Have the problems basically been the handling, balance of the car?
Jenson: Yeah, we're really struggling, as a few other drivers behind us have been, we're really struggling under braking. We just can't slow the car down, and we've got a stability issue as well. That's not all really… that's part of it. We understand the issues, I think, and we've just got to keep working very hard and this weekend is going to be a tough one in the way of results, I think.
Q: With these Fridays like this, is it difficult not to be distracted by the fact that it's obviously followed up by two days of qualifying and racing, rather than concentrating on solving your problems?
Jenson: No, not really, because I think coming into this weekend we sort of knew where we were going to be, and that hasn't changed. We haven't suddenly changed our views on things. We know where we are and we've just got to get on with the weekend. Tomorrow's practice is also important to us to work a little bit more with the balance, because the longer runs are obviously slightly worse than the one timed laps so we've got to work a bit on that and get a consistent balance. Then we will be looking OK for the race.
Q: So is there light at the end of the tunnel and if so, how far away is it?
Jenson: I don't know how far it is yet. That's the only thing, I don't know how long it is. I'm with a very strong team, Honda are very strong and we're very focused on our job and we're very committed. We're not just going to sit back and forget about this year. This is an important year and we need to get our heads down and solve our problems and that's exactly what we're doing.
Q: (Dan Knutson – National Speed Sport News) Jenson, what is your impression of the public response to Honda's environmental message?
Jenson: I think it has been pretty good, as it should be. I think it is a fantastic idea and I fully back it.
Q: (Mike Doodson) In that light, have any of you guys made any changes to your personal lives, as Jenson has done by getting himself a very expensive Honda hybrid car to travel from his yacht to his jet?
Jenson: If you actually checked, I haven't actually got a yacht or a jet... Very funny! I think it perfectly puts forward the reason behind it – awareness. As you can see, I don't think a lot of people are aware of the big issues. I think it is a great idea. We get through to hundreds of millions of people and I wasn't aware of the issues six months ago and now I am and I have changed my life in little ways. It might not be big ways, but it makes a difference, if we are capable of making these changes, which I think we are.
Q: (James Allen - ITV) Did all or any of you run both types of tyres today and can you tell us about the performance differences between them and will that be a headache in the race?
Jenson: Yes, we have run both tyres and I didn't have any clearer feeling of a big difference between the tyres, yet, but hopefully tomorrow morning will reveal a bit more.

"It hasn't been a good weekend for us so far. Today it was difficult to judge how hard to push the tyres. At the start of the lap I was getting understeer because the tyres were not up to temperature, then later in the lap I was getting oversteer as the rears were going off, which just shows the issues that we have. I got the best out of the car today and right now we are where we are. We'll obviously do what we can for the race, then we have some work to do to start addressing the issues we have identified."

Дженсон по результатам гонки:
"Not a very good day or result unfortunately. I was running heavy with fuel in the first stint and had to pit early because the car had a massive amount of understeer. At my first stop I requested front wing but because of a radio problem the team was unable to respond. When I pitted again, we had to put a lot of wing on but it didn't make any difference. So the problem may be in the front end aerodynamics. If that proves to be the case, then it is something we can certainly address straight away. Then of course I had the drive-through penalty which just compounded things. Going forward, once we know where our problems lie and what we need to do to fix them, we have three weeks and a test in between to start addressing them. Hopefully we will be able to demonstrate some improvement as early as the next race in Malaysia."
